CAN YOU FEEL THE WAVE?

Does anybody keep having the feeling like there is something really big coming. It's massive...it's far away...but it's moving fast. For the past four years I have spoken to someone different nearly every day who affirmed my belief that there is a revolution coming...like a tidal wave. The past few years of turmoil and economic recession have sent each of our lives into a different path. Today I quit my job because I felt in my heart that it wasn't the right thing for me to do even though I am dead-broke and have to pay my rent in two weeks. My friends and family are losing work. Everything seems like it's going down the drain. This is merely an illusion my friends. In the minutes preceding a tidal wave the beaches grow to triple their usual size as millions of gallons of water are pulled back into the ocean adding to the eventual crash. Revolutions of the past have been ones of violence and hatred. Ours will be one of peace love. No flower children here however, we are young, smart, talented artists and business people. We are the generation of INFORMATION! Never before could people find information from all over the world from any time at any instant. We are the first Generation ever to have really grown up with that kind of power. I believe that the technological revolution and the dawning of the Age of Information has placed each of us in a very powerful position. I am demonstrating it right now. Each of our voices can reach people all over the world almost instantly. Our ideas and opinions have infinite potential to change the very society we live in. People carry their music, pictures, and video with them wherever they go not realizing that the very act of using an ipod or another mp3 player, or the very act of cruising the Internet and blogging gives each of us the opportunity for our voice to be heard and to hear the collective voice of the world. Technology gives us the opportunity to look very closely at nearly anything we can conceive of, but it also lets us sit back and look at the big picture in a way we never could before. Now, sitting back, we can see that all of this chaos and violence is not happening out of chance or as punishment. It is simply the inevitable withdraw before the colossal wave. Those who can see these signs for what they are have a much greater chance of surviving what could be a catastrophic event. I hope by now you are picking up on the fact that I'm not actually talking about a natural disaster. I am talking about a revolution of the mind. When this wave of change hits us many, many ideas and programs and groups will be destroyed just as much of the infrastructure of a city would be destroyed by a mile-high tidal wave. But what happens after the collapse, after the very basis of our ideologies has been shook to the ground...where will that leave us? This will leave us with a great number of opportunities. Chances to instill new ideas and values in our culture. Art not just for entertainments sake, food not just to fill our stomachs, discussion not just to be right, film not just for the explosions and special effects. Unity over division, and strength in diversity. This is why it is essential that we form a COMMUNITY right now. A community who is devoted to living life for the pure enjoyment of creation. A community that lives within a civilization but with tribal values. A community who gathers around the campfire every week to beat their drums and dance and sing and let the worries of the world melt away. A community who believes what their souls are telling them and values that above conventional wisdom or even scientific fact. We work our jobs so that we can make money, feed ourselves, entertain ourselves, clothe ourselves. Somewhere along the line we forgot why we were working so hard. Why we put ourselves through daily misery. Is it just so we can survive today...wake up tomorrow and do it all over again? NO! We work every day so that we can ENJOY life. So that we can savor a conversation or an argument with a friend, and we can bask in the aroma and flavor of a fine meal, and we can dance with our friends at a concert or in our living room. We do these things not just to pass the time between work and sleep. No, we do these things because that is what life is all about. After the flood each of us will have the unique opportunity to rebuild our world. Will we rebuild it as we did before? As a world of individuals fighting for power and influence? Or will we rise from the waters as a unified force, embracing our differences and deciding to live not as a collection of people, or states, or countries, or parties, but as one people, one state, one party, one country, one world nation. It starts with each and every one of us. The time is NOW. Spread the LOVE!
